Agile Business Analyst (Contract)

MCS Group is looking for an experienced Agile Business Analyst / Product Owner to support a series of process improvement and automation initiatives within a fast-paced business environment. This role is ideal for an Agile Business Analyst or Product Owner who is highly customer-focused, thrives on uncovering opportunities for improvement, and can translate business needs into clear, well-crafted user stories that drive delivery.

This is a highly autonomous position where you will engage directly with stakeholders, map processes, and bring forward practical ideas for improvement. The successful candidate will be comfortable working at pace- delivering meaningful progress quickly while balancing pragmatism with quality.

The Role

• Work with stakeholders across the business to understand workflows and operational challenges
• Collaborate with various business areas to understand existing processes, identify opportunities for automation and efficiency, and help shape solutions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and AI-enabled solutions
• Map current and future-state processes
• Write clear, high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria
• Support the delivery of automation initiatives from discovery through to implementation
• Promote a customer-centric mindset across initiatives

The Person

• Demonstrable prior experience working as an Agile Business Analyst or Product Owner
• Proven track record delivering process automation initiatives
• Experience identifying automation opportunities across business processes
• Exposure to AI-enabled solutions or intelligent automation is highly desirable
• Familiarity with workflow, orchestration, or automation tools (e.g. Power Automate or similar)
• Understanding of low-code / no-code platforms
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
• Naturally customer-focused, with strong attention to detail when shaping requirements
• Able to work in a nimble environment, prioritising delivery and progress without getting stuck in complexity

Assignment rate: Negotiable (DOE)
Location: Belfast / Hybrid
Duration: 6 months initially
