Mid-Level Product Engineer

Mid-Level Product Engineer | AI Startup | Dublin (On-Site)

We're working with an early-stage AI startup in Dublin building autonomous agents that run real-world workflows.

They've recently raised ~$3M, have product in use, and have just made their first senior engineering hire.

Now they're looking to bring in a mid-level Product Engineer (3-5 years experience) to help build out the core platform.

The Role

This is a hands-on product engineering role - not research, not maintenance.

You'll be building and shipping features into a live AI product used by real customers, working closely with the founders.

• Backend-first development (Python)
• Designing APIs, services, and workflow systems
• Building LLM-powered features and automation
• Integrating with real operational / external systems
• Owning work end-to-end: design → build → ship → iterate

You'll see your work in production quickly and have a direct impact on the product from day one.

What They're Looking For

• 3-5 years software engineering experience
• Strong backend or full-stack fundamentals
• Experience working in a product-focused environment (not just tickets or support work)
• Comfortable owning problems end-to-end
• Curious about AI / LLMs (hands-on interest > academic knowledge)
• Enjoy working in fast-moving, early-stage teams

• Like building features that users actually touch
• Prefer shipping and iterating over long design cycles
• Are comfortable figuring things out without perfect specs
• Want more ownership than you currently have

Probably Not the Right Fit If:

• You're looking for pure research or model-heavy roles
• You prefer infra/platform-only work
• You want highly structured environments with narrow scope

Nice to Have

• Exposure to LLMs / AI integrations
• React or frontend experience
• Startup or side project experience
